Troubleshooting for Different Nail Types
Not all natural nails are the same! If you’re experiencing lifting or difficulty with adhesion, here’s how to adjust your application for the best hold:
Flat Nails:
- Buff your natural nails slightly more to improve adhesion.
- Apply glue across the entire nail bed to prevent gaps.
- Hold the press on firmly for 90 seconds, focusing on the edges.
Highly Curved (Dome-Shaped) Nails:
- Size up slightly and file the press on for a better fit.
- Apply extra glue at the edges to prevent lifting.
- Hold pressure longer on the curved areas for a secure bond.
Wide Nails:
- Size up and file the sides of the press ons for a custom fit.
- Use extra glue to ensure full coverage.
Small or Narrow Nails:
- Choose smaller sizes or file the press ons down to fit snugly.
- Apply glue carefully to avoid excess spillage.
Weak or Peeling Nails:
- Avoid over-filing to preserve nail health.
- Apply a thin layer of base coat before glue for reinforcement.
Oily Nails:
- Wipe nails with an alcohol prep pad (included in your kit) to remove excess oil.
- Consider using a nail dehydrator or primer for extra grip.
